Caroline Weaver and Jamie Bizness:
We Did It! Together! Like Birds of a Feather, In Leather!

We have been collaborating for about six months. Although we have very different styles and backgrounds, we’ve found that they compliment each other. Caroline uses her knowledge of human and animal forms to depict sexual scenes involving the female form in bondage, and to present the relationship between animals and humans. Jamie uses his knowledge of colour, composition and space to blur the divide between background and foreground; he uses colour blocks and simplified floral motifs to create a vivid, surreal landscape.

Our aim is to counter what we view as modern society's repressive constructs in regards to sexuality (for example, the idea that people should be monogamous when we are by nature polyamorous). We chose bright colours, as people receive information more easily when they are visually stimulated.

The focus of the collection is the acceptance of nature and the balance (or lack thereof) within human society. We wish to raise questions regarding the way in which society systematically breaks things down into compartments, instead of allowing people to experience life as it truly is in nature. These pieces are a protest against the way humans takes ideas and inspiration from nature, but often refuse to accept that we are one and the same as animals: a biomechanical blend of energy, shape, movement, and form.
